Three Decades of Painting Excellence in Ketchikan
From a small garage operation to Southeast Alaska's premier automotive finishing facility — our journey is built on quality, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to our craft.
Starting Small, Dreaming Big
In 1988, Dick Thompson opened the doors to Dick's Body Shop with nothing more than a single paint gun, a beat-up compressor, and an uncompromising vision: to provide Ketchikan with the highest quality automotive paint work the area had ever seen.
Back then, we operated out of a modest 800-square-foot garage on the outskirts of town. Word spread quickly about the quality of our work and our honest, straightforward approach to doing business. Within five years, we had outgrown our original location three times.
Today, our state-of-the-art facility spans over 12,000 square feet and features the most advanced paint and collision repair equipment available. But despite our growth, the values that guided Dick back in 1988 remain at the heart of everything we do: quality without compromise, fair prices, and treating every vehicle — from the cheapest econobox to the rarest classic — like it was our own.
